Managing Editor
Department: Health Professions
(St. Louis, Philadelphia or Elkridge, MD)
Revises, manages, and acquires publishing projects and product lines meeting revenue and profit quotas and corporate quality standards. Assists Acquisitions Editor with aspects of manuscript development and contract fulfillment on priority projects. Must frequently revise priorities to effectively manage numerous projects. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively by phone. This position will include print products, ancillaries and ePublishing while focusing on Fire and Rescue. Must have good organizational and problem solving skills. Qualifications: College degree with emphasis in English, liberal arts, sciences, or business or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least five years of publishing experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Candidate must be multitasking, have good initiative and be goal oriented. Some travel required.
