Manages team of developmental editors and editorial assistants. Supervises and trains in-house and freelance developmental editors and arranges for outside DE services. Works closely with Acquisitions, Production, and Marketing to create and produce market-responsive products. Prepares and releases manuscripts to production. Qualifications: Minimum of five years’ experience in medical book publishing. Thorough knowledge of developmental editing and manuscript processing. Familiarity with book production process. Strong communication skills. Ability to train and supervise others and work as part of a team with acquisitions editors and production staff. Ability to motivate team members to attain organizational goals. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects, set priorities and organize work, and to interact effectively with both in-house staff and outside contacts. Knowledge of markets and customs. Basic knowledge of book financials.
